Your Dream Home Office

Let’s face it - The new “work from home” trend is here to stay.

Well, at least for the time being.

So, why not make the most of the space you have, and remodel a new home office?

At lifetime, our professionals are skilled in cultivating a space that's both aesthetic and functional.

Here are 5 simple tips we've come up with to inspire your home office remodel!

  1. Location, location, location! When working from home, it's crucial to have a space that is quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of the home. Not only will it help you focus, but it will also create a boundary between work and leisure in the home.

  2. Bring the outdoors, indoors! Having natural light is not only refreshing, but is proven to improve mood and productivity levels. As opposed to dimmer fluorescent lighting, that's been known to cause lethargy. Adding some house plants is a great way to add a warm feel, while also proven to be relaxing.

  3. Furniture placement - Facing a window will give your eyes and mind a much needed break from the computer screen. Experts say to follow the 20-20-20 rule. Every 20 minutes, look 20 feet away, for at least 20 seconds. It will keep your eyes and your mind refreshed!

  4. Minimalist - Clear space, clear mind! Having less “stuff” around will create the space for more creativity to flow!

  5. Storage - You'll want to have storage bins, drawers or folders to keep your working materials easy to find, and easy to stow away at the end of your work day. something like wicker baskets on a wooden shelving unit is a great way to stay organized without compromising aesthetic.

Whether you're looking to create a small temporary work from home space or a larger study or library, at Lifetime, we are ready to help you create the project of your dreams.
